- Application Deadline: spring deadline (usually May 1) for the following academic year. (If all available funds for the year have not been dispersed, a second funding round can occur for the remainder of the school year. Faculty will be alerted to this and proposals should be submitted to the Committee by November 1.)
- Applicants may be a teacher or group of teachers currently employed by the Norwich School District. Parents or community members wishing to submit a proposal must work with a faculty member to submit the proposal.
- Proposal and Budget Guidelines:
- The proposal must be in keeping with the stated purpose of the fund.
- It should include the time frame for completion, the number of students served, its integration into the curriculum, and the expected outcomes.
- Applicants should provide evidence of adult staffing requirements.
- All activities must comply with school regulations.
- The budget should reflect any associated operational costs especially safety, insurance, and transportation.
- The grant will not fund capital expenditures and the budget may not include salary for any full time Norwich school employee or long-term substitute.
- The proposal should not exceed two pages in length excluding budget and may be sent electronically (please ask for confirmation of receipt).
- A letter of support from the principal of the Marion Cross School as well as a letter from a teaching colleague should accompany the proposal.
- The grant recipient should give a report of activities and expenditures to the Norwich School Board of Directors at the board meeting following the completion of the experience. Committee members may attend the school board meeting.
